Will it make my dog or cat high?

No! ElleVet products cannot make your dog high. It contains only trace amounts the compound that causes a “high” and  will not cause a psychoactive effect. Some dogs will sleep more, but this is typically because they are getting a comfortable sleep.

Are there any side effects when giving my pet hemp oil?

Side effects, if any, are usually mild and infrequent. Occasionally a pet may have soft stools but this typically resolves in a few days. They may also show signs of mild sleepiness for a few days, most often because they are comfortable and able to get a restful sleep.

Has your product been tested and is it safe to give to my pets?

Yes! Clinical research and data are behind all of our products and we test them with the best veterinarians in the country, including pharmacokinetic studies and multiple clinical trials with Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Currently we are in over 30 clinical trials and research projects. We have also performed long-term safety studies for both dogs and cats.

How long does it take for the hemp oil to work?

Typically between 48 hours and 5 days. Some pet owners see a noticeable difference within 24 hours, but large dogs (100+ lbs) may take up to two weeks to show improvement.

What if my pet eats more hemp oil than they should?

Your pet should be perfectly fine but may show some mild side effects. These include brief GI issues such as soft stools and sleepiness. These effects typically pass in 24 hours and you can resume normal dosage.

Can I give my pet a higher dose of hemp oil?

Yes, if your pet needs more support, you can double the dose. If your pet does better on the loading dose it is very safe to stay on that dose. Many older dogs can benefit from higher doses.  Some issues, such as itching, stress, shaking, cognitive or palliative care may require a higher dose. Give us a call if you have questions about dosing.

How many times a day should my dog take the ElleVet Chews?

Twice a day or every 8-12 hours is recommended, based on our pharmacokinetic study.

What if we miss a dose?

If you miss one or two doses, just resume dosing as usual. If you miss a week or more, return to the loading dose for a week.

What is the potency of ElleVet’s hemp oil?

Our oil has a potency of minimum 70mg per ml.

Is your product organic?

Yes, ElleVet products are completely organic. Our hemp is organically grown, our sesame seed carrier oil is organic, and all chew ingredients are organic.

My dog has allergies and/or food sensitivity. Can I still use your product?

Yes, but we recommend using our soft gels or oil rather than our chews.

Can I give my pet hemp oil with other supplements / medications?

Yes. However, we recommend letting your veterinarian know that you are adding our product to your pet’s regimen, as with any product. It may be advised to decrease certain other products when adding ElleVet.

We ship anywhere within the United States.  We offer free ground shipping for retail orders over $150.00 and for wholesale orders over $250.00. For retail orders less than $150.00 within the U.S., ground shipping is a flat rate of $4.95. Ground shipping generally takes 3-5 business days from the time an order is placed to arrival at your door. Ground shipping orders may be slightly delayed during holidays and promotions.

What is your return policy?

Unopened products can be returned for a full refund within 30 calendar days of purchase. We cannot accept returns on expired products. If You purchased our product from a veterinarian, please contact them directly to enquire about any return policy they may have.
