Are ElleVet products clinically proven to work?

Yes! ElleVet products have been proven safe and effective. Clinical research and data are behind all of our products and we test them with the best veterinarians in the country, including pharmacokinetic studies and multiple clinical trials with Multiple Veterinary Medical Schools such as Cornell, UC Davis and University of Florida. What is NASC?

Complete Spectrum Hemp

What does Complete Spectrum mean?

This means that our oil includes all of the compounds naturally found within the hemp plant. Together, these properties of the plant form an “entourage effect,” working together to make for a more effective product. The hemp we use is a strain developed specifically for us and grown just for us. No one else uses the same hemp we do and ours is the only hemp proven to work in multiple clinical trials.

Where does ElleVet's hemp come from?

At ElleVet, we control our products’ entire cycle - from the farm to the end-user. We do not buy from a bulk manufacturer. Our products are made of a proprietary whole hemp plant extract. The unique hemp cultivar we use, our strictly controlled growing in Colorado, specialized manufacturing processes, and comprehensive testing ensure the high quality of our products.

Is it legal?

Yes. Hemp is not a controlled substance and the FDA allows products like ElleVet to be sold without FDA approval.

Are ElleVet products third party tested?

Yes. Testing is of critical importance to us. At a minimum, ElleVet products are tested at third-party certified laboratories at the following stages:

1. The plants are tested for compliance by a 3rd party before harvest. After harvest, every lot undergoes inspection and testing.
2. The extract is tested to make sure it has the desired blend and is free of contaminants.
3. The final product is tested again to confirm it has the desired concentration.
4. Batches of final products are regularly tested to ensure no potency is lost during their shelf life.

Products lacking independent quality analysis by certified laboratories risk exposing pets to harmful elements such as controlled substances, heavy metals, pesticides, and aflatoxins.

Is dog/cat/horse hemp the same as human hemp?

Our product is specifically formulated and tested for animals.

How does a subscription work?

With a subscription you will save on every order, and never worry about running out! When you sign up for a subscription, an order will be processed and shipped to you at that time. All subsequent orders will be processed at the interval you select during check out, and you will receive 5-day and 3-day reminders prior to your renewal date. How does shipping work?

We ship anywhere within the United States. Standard shipping is a flat rate of $5.95 for most products. Standard shipping generally takes 3-5 business days from the time an order is placed to arrival at your door, though orders to the West Coast may take slightly longer. Orders may be slightly delayed during holidays and promotions.

What is your return policy?

Unopened products can be returned for a full refund within 30 calendar days of purchase. We cannot accept returns on expired products. If you purchased our product from a veterinarian, please contact them directly to enquire about any return policy they may have.

Can I get ElleVet from my veterinarian?

ElleVet is stocked by many veterinary clinics across the US, and we are constantly adding new accounts to make our products even more accessible. We would recommend talking to your vet to see if they currently carry or are interested in carrying ElleVet. If you'd prefer to have your products delivered, you can always order directly through our website!

Product Selection

How do I know which product is right for my pet?

ElleVet offers a variety of product options to suit the needs of every pet. All our products are made with the same Complete Spectrum Proprietary Hemp Oil, so you can be sure that whichever option you choose, it will be safe and effective for your pet. In general, we offer the following guidelines:

For dogs:

Soft Chews are ideal for chew-loving dogs and are also a great way to add supplemental glucosamine and chondroitin into your dog's regimen.
Oils are our original product and are recommended for dogs who might not like chews or have trouble accepting pills or soft gels. They are also great for very small dogs who require precise administration and are the most economical option for very large dogs.
Soft Gels are odorless and tasteless, making them great for picky palates and dogs with food sensitivities or sensitive stomachs.
Calm & Comfort is our only situational-use product and provides maximum strength calming support when dogs need it most, such as fireworks, vet visits, or other high-stress moments.

For cats:

Cat Chews are salmon flavored and contain our proprietary oil formulation. The soft chews are easy to give whole or crumbled, and are highly effective for feline joint discomfort, mobility, and stress support.
Our Feline Oil is our original product and is recommended for cats who have trouble accepting chews, paste, or soft gels.
Feline Paste comes in an easy-to-use syringe and can be conveniently administered at mealtime.
Soft Gels are odorless and tasteless, making them great for finicky felines and cats with food sensitivities or sensitive stomachs.

We also support Horses! Our Equine Pellets help with focus, stress, and mobility for horses of all ages.

Why is there such a large range of prices for hemp products?

We get it - the hemp market can be overwhelming! When considering which product is right for you, it is important to understand what goes into the formulation. Some companies offer temptingly low prices, but further scrutiny reveals that their potency is too low to be effective, or that their formulation is not optimized for results. ElleVet is the only product proven effective in multiple clinical trials, and our products have a higher concentration of hemp extract per milligram compared to other hemp products available. An independent analysis has shown that ElleVet has one of the lowest prices per milligram on the market, making it an economical choice. Additionally, ElleVet is one of the few companies with a dedicated internal Quality Control program, which ensures that our potency is always at our label claim – something that cannot be said for other products.

My pet has a sensitive stomach. Which product should I choose?

Depending on your pet's particular sensitivity, we recommend choosing either the Oils or the Soft Gels.

The Oils contain only one ingredient - our Complete Spectrum Proprietary Hemp Oil - making them a great option for pets with allergies or sensitivities to specific ingredients.

The Soft Gels are odorless and tasteless, so they are a popular choice for pets who are sensitive to strong smells or flavors. They are also well-tolerated by most pets with sensitive stomachs.

Can I use ElleVet products for situational stress (e.g., fireworks, travel, grooming)?

Yes! Our Calm & Comfort chews for dogs are formulated to provide maximum strength support for occasional situations that may cause stress. Calm & Comfort is most effective when your dog is given the chews 1.5-2 hours before a trigger event.

Which ElleVet product is best for ongoing support?

Aside from our Calm & Comfort chews for dogs, which are formulated for situational use, all our products are safe for ongoing, twice daily use. Many pet parents prefer chews for consistent support because they’re easy-to-give and pets love them. Others find our oils to be ideal for precise administration and cost-effectiveness, while our soft gels are often a good fit for pets with picky palates or food and/or stomach sensitivities.

The best option depends on your pet’s needs, size, and preferences.

Can I use different ElleVet products together?

In most cases, yes. Some pet parents use a combination of products depending on their dog or cat’s routine. For example, daily oils may be occasionally paired with our situational-use Calm & Comfort chews. Because administering depends on your pet’s weight and support needs, we recommend contacting our licensed veterinary technicians before combining products to ensure your pet receives the correct total amount.

Does ElleVet offer products for senior pets?

Yes. ElleVet’s products are used by pets of nearly all ages and can be especially helpful for supporting joint health, stress, and mobility in senior dogs and cats.

Administration

How many times a day do I need to give the product to see results?

Based on our research on how animals metabolize our product, twice a day administration is needed for the best effect. Spacing the administration about 12 hours apart is ideal, and at meal time improve absorption. If you are not seeing the desired results, a third administration can be added at an every 8 hour regimen if needed.

How long does it take to see effects?

Typically between 48 hours and 5 days, depending on many factors including pet size and support needs. Some pet owners see a noticeable difference within 24 hours, though some dogs may take up to two weeks to show improvement.

Can I give my animal a different amount than recommended?

Yes, if your animal needs more support, you can gradually increase or even double the amount. Once you find an amount that works for your animal, you can safely stay at that level, even if it is higher than shown in the administration table. What if we miss a day?

It happens! If your pet misses their ElleVet for a day or two, just resume administration as usual. If your pet is using ElleVet for mobility/joint discomfort and misses a week or more, you can safely return to the Week 1 administration amounts for a week, if needed, for best results.

Can this be taken with other supplements and veterinary products?

Yes. We have completed safety studies that show ElleVet products are safe to take in conjunction with other veterinary products. As with any product, we recommend letting your veterinarian know that you are adding ElleVet to your pet’s regimen.

Where do your administration instructions come from?

Accurate administration is essential for success. Our administration instructions are based on extensive metabolic studies and are specific to each support type, including mobility, stress, skin, neuro, and cognitive. Depending on the type of support needed, you may need to administer a “loading” amount for the first week, or the recommendation may be consistent week to week. Ultimately, all pets respond differently to hemp and you may need to adjust the administration amount up or down from the listed recommendation. How do I store my product?

Products should be kept sealed when not in use and stored in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight but do not need to be refrigerated.

Does it expire?

The products have an 18-month shelf life, and the suggested use-by date is printed on all packaging.

What should I do if my pet doesn’t respond to the initial administration?

Every dog and cat is unique, and often a small adjustment to their administration amounts can make a big difference. Our recommendations are based on clinical research, and adjusting the amount is sometimes part of the process.

Can I give your products to my pet on an empty stomach?

Yes. However, we recommend giving ElleVet at mealtime for optimal absorption.

Is ElleVet safe for my pet, including for long-term daily use?

Yes! ElleVet products have been proven safe and effective in multiple clinical trials for both short-term and long-term daily use.

Do you have a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for your products?

Yes. Every ElleVet product has a batch number with a corresponding COA. Please contact us if you have questions or would like to request the COA for your specific product.

Are there side effects of hemp?

Side effects, if any, are usually mild and infrequent. Occasionally a pet may have soft stools but this typically resolves in a few days. They may also show signs of mild sleepiness for a few days, most often because they are comfortable and able to get a restful sleep.

What if my pet eats more than they should?

Generally, side effects are minimal, even if your pet eats the whole bag or bottle. If they do eat more than recommended they may be sleepy and/or have soft stools. If your pet experiences any side effects or eats more than they should, we recommend calling your veterinarian.

Are your products safe for pets with food sensitivities or allergies?

Pet parents seeking support for pets with sensitive stomachs often choose our Soft Gels or Oil rather than our Canine Chews or Feline Paste, since they have fewer ingredients.

Will this make my pet high?

No! ElleVet products cannot make your pet high when taken within recommended doses. ElleVet products contain only trace amounts of the compound that causes a “high” and will not cause an adverse psychoactive effect. Some pets will sleep more, but this is typically because they are getting a comfortable sleep.
